# Domain Performance Dashboard

The Performance Dashboard is your **single-client deep view**. When you've drilled into a specific domain from the Domains Overview, this is the first page you land on — a high-level snapshot of how the client's content is performing in search, designed to answer the questions you'll have during a client meeting or weekly review.

The data comes directly from Google Search Console, so what you see is exactly what Google is reporting — not a re-interpretation or proxy metric.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Key Takeaways**

* High-level snapshot for ONE client — for portfolio-wide views, see [Domains Overview](/getting-started/domains.md)
* Top 100 + Top 10 keyword counts give you a fast read on overall ranking strength
* Top 5 performing pages let you see which content is actually working
* Time-range filters (1mo / 6mo / 12mo / all-time) update everything live without page reload
* This is the at-a-glance view — for deeper query/page analysis, jump to [SEO Analytics](/getting-started/seo-analytics.md)

### Keyword performance (top of page)

The most important numbers for a quick health check:

| Metric | What it tells you |
| ---------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Top 100 keywords** | How many queries the site is ranking for anywhere in Google's top 100 results — overall ranking footprint |
| **Top 10 keywords** | How many queries the site is ranking for on **page one** — actual visibility, not just "indexed" |
| **Traffic share by keyword** | Which queries are driving the most clicks — usually a small handful do all the work |

The Top 10 count is the most important single number. Position 1–10 = visible to users; position 11+ = effectively invisible. A site with 500 keywords in the Top 100 but only 12 in the Top 10 has a clear opportunity: which of those 500 can be pushed onto page one?

### Page performance (middle section)

Top 5 performing pages, ranked by clicks + impressions. This tells you:

* Which articles are actually driving traffic (vs which ones just exist)
* Where to focus internal links — point them at the pages that are working
* What patterns are working — topic, format, length — so you can replicate them

### Website traffic summary (bottom)

* **Total website clicks** — sum of all clicks across all queries
* **Total website impressions** — sum of all impressions across all queries

The simplest "are we winning or losing" trend line. Compare to last period to spot growth or stagnation.

## Time-range filters

Every metric on the dashboard responds to the time-range filter at the top:

| Range         | Best for                                                                       |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **1 Month** | Recent performance, catching sudden drops, confirming a publishing push landed |
| **6 Months** | The standard view for client check-ins and quarterly reviews |
| **12 Months** | Year-over-year trends, seasonal patterns, long-term growth                     |
| **All Time** | Domain-lifetime view, useful for showing client ROI over the full engagement |

Filters update everything live — no page reload needed. Switching between ranges is the primary way to compare "where are we now" vs "where were we 6 months ago."

## How to read the dashboard

A typical client meeting flow:

```mermaid
flowchart LR
  A[Open client domain<br/>Performance Dashboard] --> B[Glance at Top 10 keyword count]
  B --> C{Growing vs last period?}
  C -->|Up| D[Check Top 5 pages for the wins]
  C -->|Flat or down| E[Switch to 6mo range]
  E --> F[Identify slowest period]
  F --> G[Use SEO Analytics for query-level diagnosis]
  D --> H[Discuss next 2-4 articles to maintain momentum]
  G --> H
  classDef good fill:#E3FCEF,stroke:#006644,color:#091E42
  classDef stuck fill:#FFEBE6,stroke:#DE350B,color:#091E42
  classDef action fill:#F0F6FF,stroke:#0052CC,color:#091E42
  class A,B,C,D,H good
  class E,F,G stuck
```

* **Up trends** → focus on what's working. Use the Top 5 pages to inform the next batch of Sage AI suggestions (replicate the format/topic angles).
* **Flat trends** → usually means existing content is maxed out. Time to publish more — Sage's AI Suggestions Engine can queue the next round.
* **Down trends** → switch to SEO Analytics to look at query-level data. Usually it's 1-2 high-traffic queries that dropped, not a site-wide decline.

## When to use this page

* **During client meetings** — fast updates without needing to dive into deep reports
* **Weekly health checks** — 30-second glance to confirm nothing's stuck or declining
* **Prioritizing the next batch of articles** — see which content patterns are working, queue similar topics
* **Troubleshooting sudden traffic shifts** — first stop when GA shows a spike or dip
* **Starting point for deeper analysis** — once you spot something, jump to SEO Analytics or Google Index for detail

## Live data refresh

* Time-range switches update all metrics dynamically — no full-page reload
* Underlying GSC data refreshes daily (Google's own cadence)
* Click any metric card to drill into the SEO Analytics view for that specific data type
* Compare two ranges visually using the trend arrows next to each metric

## Frequently asked questions

### Why are some metrics blank?

If the domain has very low impressions (e.g., a brand new site with <100 impressions/month), Google often doesn't report breakdowns to GSC due to privacy thresholds. The metrics will populate as the site accumulates more search visibility.

### How does this differ from the Domains Overview?

* **Domains Overview** = portfolio across all clients (one row per domain)
* **Performance Dashboard** = drill-in for one specific client (this page)

Use the Overview for portfolio decisions; use this page for client-specific analysis.

### How does this differ from SEO Analytics?

* **Performance Dashboard** = the **summary** (top 100/top 10 counts, top 5 pages, traffic totals)
* **SEO Analytics** = the **deep dive** (every query, every page, ranking changes, trend charts)

This page answers "is the domain healthy?" — SEO Analytics answers "why and what should we do about it?"

### Does this include data from Google Analytics?

This page uses Google Search Console only. GA integration powers the AI-referral and on-site behavior data that surfaces elsewhere in Sage.

### Can I export the dashboard data?

Currently no direct export. CSV export is on the roadmap. For now, you can pull the same data from GSC's UI if you need a client-facing report.
